Whoo! First Post,

To add my two cents, I can tell you that I've just finished Far Cry--and that it was one of the best single player FPS games I've played in a long time. Doom III and Half Life 2 have a worthy component for Game of The Year 2004. I highly recommend picking it up. (Make sure your system is up to date tho)

Hmm...
Do you recommend Far Cry? I am a rather hardcore gamer, and I want a fun game.

Yes, I do recommend it DDRRE. If you're a hardcore gamer, (FPS fan of course) then I do. Between the last few games I've played, Hitman Contracts, Soldner, BF: Vietnam, Painkiller etc.--Far Cry takes the cake easily. If you don't believe me, check the reviews. The graphics are bar none and the gameplay is quite excellent. I'm a hardcore gamer too and this game is too good to pass up. The game is online multi-player also, so if you wanted to play against some of your buddies, there you go.
