"id Software has done a tremendous job in optimizing DOOM 3 for computers that are two years old or older. If you have a 1.5GHz Pentium and a 3D card that has been made in the last couple of years, you should be able to enjoy the DOOM 3 experience as it was meant to be." LOL! Apparently, Doom 3 won't be rescuing the hardware industry after all. |

Ok, so ATi provides a suitable experience.
But if you want the BEST possible experience, buy yourself a 6800. That's simple enough that even n00bs can understand. |

FX5900 hows does that help the people who have already bought cards and spent $300-$500? Its not a matter of behing a noob its a matter of ID decided to build there new game on an OpenGl platform and ATI decided way back that OpenGl probally wasnt going to be supported anymore and if it was current hardware would have no problem.I'm sure once ATI rips Doom3 apart they will be able to optimize the drivers more efficently.Who know.Maybe ATI will be faster that NVIDIA'S after. Now would that be a |

You wish Rasded.
You sound like a n00b yourself. If you had done your homework, you'd know that Carmack optimized doom3 for nVidia.
ATI can rip doom3 apart as many times as they want, but drivers will not make up for ***** hardware. and ATI's drivers have always sucked; that's not about to change.

If best possible experience, you mean taking screenshots on both cards then zooming in on themand studying them to see the tiny differences which make nvidia "better" and then assuming that your manhood is bigger than an ati owners, then yes; I agree. Nvidia will help you get over your small penis complex |

not locked to 60 (even though that would be nice) but capped at 60, theres a difference
i dont thing ATi will be faster (even with the rumored new ogl driver - though it should close much of the gap) because of the ultrashadows (shadow culling) that nvidia has patended and doom3 is using, that reduces the workload quite a bid.
too bad for the industry that nvidia doesnt make it's tech free the way ATi does with 3Dc and it did with PS1.4 |
