With RO: CA we are implementing a feature never before seen in a WWII game: Realistic artillery. The whole system was designed from the ground up to be based on historical data on artillery use in WWII. Officers are given binoculars which they can use to select the positions to call in artillery strikes. Once they have selected the position on the map they would like to call in the strike, they must use a radio or telephone to call in the artillery strike. Based on the availability of the artillery, their strike will be either confirmed or denied by headquarters. Once confirmed, it takes a little while for the artillery to arrive.
Never seen in WWII game ? This is *exactly* how the artillery works in Enemy Territory .. |
