Can someone explain to me how people are claiming ATI is better for HL2???
Anyone who reads the "Valve Stress Test - Radeon X800 Pro vs GeForce 6800GT" will see the 6800GT was consisently better. Who told you ATI was better for HL2? Gabe? And you ATIdiots believe Gabe??? Laughing

Well, lets see. When HL2 was first announced, Valve said it would run better on ATI cards. ATI had a graphics card bundle with HL2. Nvidia had Doom 3, ATI get Half-Life 2, need I say more?

ati 9700 performs well in cs:s and in time demo i got 79fps average. as for nvidia, yes, they perform better and in some cases it's because people are using dx8 or dx7 instead of dx9(commandline options) which is on ati by default. either way, 9700 can handle the game with no problem. just so you know. people have complained of poor fps, probably matches their poor computer knowledge. i'm sure valve the game dummy proof soon

Nice FX5900, but save your breath they wont listen. Ati just isnt reliable thats all there is to it.

CaptStar... my point EXACTLY. Valve SAID it would run better with ATI, but the benchmarks aren't showing that. Anyone who listens to Gabe is a moron... he is the king of hype and false deadlines.

as i said a long time ago, nvidia will walk all over ATI in HL2..i got a rig with a 9700 and there is a lot of people with bad fps in hl2. the bad fps comes as soon as u enable AA and AF on nearly any card. there are some that say they don't have fps problems but then they don't indicate most times what they have turned off.
