RAGE\'s new gameplay trailer titled The Shrouded takes a look into the Shrouded clan\'s bunker on a mission to destroy a bomb cache. RAGE is set to release on September 13th/16th in the US and Europe respectively for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms.

Seems like ID has fallen off.

For a game with so much death, there is no gore and the death animations suck. You see the ragdolls almost spring away from the character's previously live positions? sigh. The other animations seem pretty good I guess, with the baddies trying to kick over the turret and diving for cover, but overall it doesn't seem too impressive.

At least Doom 3 was scary at times if you were playing at night. This seems pretty boring with nothing to add to the genre.

Death animations aren't the best but I'm thinking that will improve. I still think it looks like a very cool and fun game. It looks like a cross between Borderlands and STALKER.

I'm sure this will be great, but I now see the downside of releasing "when it's done." Each interesting thing in the video reminds me of some other game that beat them to the punch.

* droplets on my visor - Bioshock did it (and electric bolts in the water)
* setting up sentry guns - HL2 did it (and the enemies kicking them over)
* fallen enemies still shooting - Call of Duty did it
* ...
