Eight shooters. EIGHT. Gee, I wonder if the market is saturated?
I'm so bloody tired of copycat shooters and consolized action games, I actually started playing HOMM3 over the weekend. A twelve year old turn-based game is more entertaining than all eight of those titles put together, (and still highly addictive, by the way). I've purchased more indie games this year than I have "premium" titles from the major publishers. A demo is generally enough to tell me a game is crap, (I'm looking at you, Space Marine), and the crap quotient has climbed exponentially this year. The lowest common denominator, for years the staple of console gaming, has now completely infected the PC mainstream game market.
Doesn't look like I'll be spending much more money on EA, et al. And that's good thing. |
