Very cool and when I get an Oculus I'll be grabbing this too! Didn't think it would look as good as that. |

Why wouldn't the entire area be nothing but desktop? Why would you have a pointless starfield using up part of your area? Why not a "virtual globe desktop" that you can pin windows to anywhere? |

I noticed they mention that "If you have multiple monitors, they will show as additional desktops" or whatever. How about being able to have 6 or 9 desktops, while only really having one monitor. I would gladly trade in my triple head setup for a VR headset and just have a single actual monitor for when fatigue sets in.
To lorcro's point, having windows just randomly all over the place would be too strange at first to remain productive (unless you could setup a mosaic pattern for snapping windows to, etc.).
Also, being able to specify a mock resolution for running games so that the game thought it was running at 5760x1200 (or whatever), and then scaling/positioning that surface however you want in your VR space would be pretty sick. Running games on the equivalent of a single monitor inside VR space seems like a complete waste. Go for increased immersion or don't even bother. |
