Has StarCraft II melted your machine yet? Blizzard has officially admitted that it’s a known issue and that there is a fix to it all. Here\'s the workaround for the beta, which will presumably work on the full game by using the proper directory:

What i dont get about this, is why is it going to damage the machine to render a scene with nothing in high fps as compared to a scene with a lot of details in lower fps. The graphics card does the same amount of work(it does have a top limit). It seems to me like its a question of insufficient cooling rather than a SC2 problem.
Granted there is no reason why there shouldn't be fps limits on the menu, but stil..l. If a machine "melts" because of running a scene with few details, it would be bound to happen regardless. |

played over 3h last night no overheat.
that file isn't located in the final version.
nothing in there forums about this issue atm.
OLD NEWS i guess.
but on the other end, there are a hell of a lot of people with issues right now with the game. it really wasnt ready to come out yet, could have used 3 more months of polish. |

thats just BS or people have dust carpets in their computers. My 5850 get's to ~80C with 40% fan speed, menu or no menu. Crysis renders 999fps in menu, SC2 renders ~90. I don't see a problem. Perhaps this is just a way to market a product saying "our game is so advanced that it can fry your computer". Utter BS. |
