I can't help thinking that those factories had to be rebuilt for a reason... I still don't understand why on consumers' money instead of the investors'...

yea, neither did I, I bought 1TB seagate a year ago, maybe more, for like 70e (it's was probably 70$ in USA back then, our dealers just change $ to € and rip us off Very Happy ), and I still have 300GB free so I am good Smile

On the HDD subject: I am still expecting some kind of lawsuit against hdd manufacturers because of price fixing, supply fixing etc. It's only natural to see some part of their extra profits from that scheme get shared with others Very Happy

I waited until recently to buy some drives. Picked up 2TB for about a hundred a pop. I wouldn't have if it wasn't necessary for the setup in the home I'm aiming for while the kids are still toddlers and older. The 2TB drives should be under a hundred like 1TB was even way back. Hell even old raptors are still going for some change.
