The chaps over at

Bit-tech take a look at the new
singleplayer demo of F.E.A.R. which was released last week. They have posted

their impressions of the game, as well as

some benchmarks on a wide range of graphics hardware:

The 7800 can clearly handle this kind of resolution with ease - it's better

Range of different cards? They are all NVIDIA and those benchmarks are nonsense, I run a lesser rig with an X800 XT and still maintain higher fps using fraps.

If the 5900 XT is representative of the last generation, including the ATI 9800 series, you'll do ok here - you might be able to squeeze in at 800x600 with low details, or 640x480 with a little bit more eye candy.

Well something must be seriously screwed up between the 5900 XT and ATI 9800?

I have a 9800 and can play full detail except shadows and max textures (256mb card needed) being on.
x2AA at 1024x768, there isn't *any* slowdown and it looks gorgeous.

Shows you exactly how untrust worthy these comparisons are Rolling Eyes

RAM and system build being more important than basic specs.
