Diablo 4 is one of the most anticipated games of 2023, and fans are eagerly waiting for its release on June 6, 2023. One of the most exciting aspects of Diablo 4 is its items. While Diablo 4 will not have set items at launch, they will be added to the game in the future. The Game Director of Diablo 4, Joe Shely, confirmed that sets would not be in Diablo 4 at launch but also confirmed they would release in the future.

Diablo 4 will have different item quality/rarity types. These include common, magic, rare, legendary, and ancient legendary items[1]. Common items are basic equipment with no special properties. Magic items have one or two random magical properties. Rare items have three to six random magical properties. Legendary items are unique and powerful with special abilities that can change gameplay significantly. Ancient legendary items are more powerful versions of legendary items with higher stats and additional powers.

Diablo 4's locations are about "believability, not realism". Blizzard has revealed that Diablo 4 will have "five distinct regions and hundreds of dungeons." Art director Chris Ryder added that "weather and lighting play a more prominent visual role" than in previous Diablo games.

In terms of characters, Lilith is coming back as a main antagonist in Diablo 4. She is an extremely challenging demon known as the 'Mother of Misery,' 'Queen of the Succubi,' 'Mother of Deceit,' and 'Mistress of Betrayal'. Players can choose from five classes: Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, Paladin, and Amazon.

In conclusion, while players won't see set items at launch in Diablo 4 on June 6th this year; they can expect them to be added to the game later on. In addition to set items, players can look forward to different item quality/rarity types such as common, magic, rare legendary and ancient legendary items. With five distinct regions and hundreds of dungeons available for exploration along with new characters like Lilith returning as a main antagonist; it's clear that there's plenty for fans to look forward to when it comes to Diablo IV item system.

In Diablo 4, salvaging gear and items offers an alternative to selling them for Diablo IV gold. With an abundance of loot available from various sources like completing quests, opening chests, and defeating enemies, not all the items in Diablo 4 you find need to be salvaged, as some might be upgrades that can be equipped immediately.
