I just played the first four single-player levels of
Quake 4. I would say that the game seems to be pretty damn good so far. Gameplay is pretty fast and furious, they throw you into the action almost right away, and it doesn't let up. If you like the "run and gun" style games this is it w

Overall, a good shooter. Pretty fast when you get st0gg1f13d.
Only one thing that bothers me; The FPS are WILD. It's like the vis portals in the game are in the middle of areas! You'd expect that when a door closes behind you, the vis portal closes, and the stuff behind you isn't getting rendered anymore, so the FPS jump up, but it's not the case in Quake4 :O. You have to walk to some unlogical point in the room for the portals to close. Check it out with "r_showtris 2" (without the quotes). That is so f***** anoying!

Ok, I'll download it for single player. See what it's like. Not gonna waste money on another iD title..

I'll get this game anyway. I think I'll like it, because there are lots of people who approved of it. And then I'll get it for only ten bucks, so if I won't be too excited about it I wouldn't loose that much.

$59 was too much for me for Quake 4. Considering the arsenal of games I've got already doesn't make sense. Plus, Serious Sam looks actually cool. I must admit I wasn't impressed with the last one but for $39 for Serious Sam looks a hell of a lot more worth it than Quake 4. I seem to get stuck playing the SS demo and it's actually much like parts of the original SS that I liked. I'm curious into the different mp modes of retail, before I think of buying it. I really liked the coop.

You are right, this looks like a Doom3 mod.

I miss the Quake 2 gameplay, too many years waiting for this?
I don't like to follow orders...
I'm used to work alone, like Bruce Willis...

Who cares the fantastic graphics details when you are killing monsters?
Did you watch the pipes, buttons, textures in the walls when YOU LIFE IS IN DANGER?
