Codename: Outbreak (formerly know as Venom) is first/third person tactical shooter developed by GSC Gameworld, the development team behind Cossacks. The story is almost "classic" - Aliens have invaded the Earth and you have to carry out a number of tense and hazardous missions on the objectives captured by aliens, saving human survivors, creating diversions, preventing nuclear weapons launches, getting important information, samples etc. Codename: Outbreak features 13 different indoor and outdoor levels, possibility of stealthy movements, sniper shooting and sudden attacks, one multi-functional weapon (switchable between grenade, mine and rocket launchers with more traditional sniper rifle and sub machine-gun), ability to control two soldiers (you can choose from 12 various skilled soldiers to select your teammates from), choosing time of the day for the mission and nultiplayer with cooperative, capture the flag and deathmatch modes. It's quite good game, but isn’t for the casual gamer who expects an FPS. It's a tatical, squad based, shooter, not an FPS, despite they included an arcade mode for less skilled players.
