Tropico: Paradise Island is an expansion pack for Tropico, one of the best dictator simulation ever. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, in Tropico you control a tropical tourist mecca or rule an evil, repressive dictatorship. Well, I don't believe any fan of these genre didn't play it yet. So what is new in this add-on? Tropico: Paradise Island features over twenty new scenarios with a "Gilligan's Island" spoof, other tourism options and military challenges, ten new buildings types (Army Base, Beach Villa, Condominium, Duty-Free Shop, Furniture Factory, Miniature Golf, Movie Theater, Nature Preserve, Tennis Court), two new characters (Eco-Tourist and Spring Break Tourist), six new edicts (Capture, Conscription, Spring Break Vacation Ad, World Geographic Special), rotatable buildings (Armory, Bank, Bunkhouse, Cabaret, Cheap Hotel, Church, Luxury House, Newspaper, Police Station, Souvenir Shop, TV Station). The game has also better replay ability via Random Events which can run the gamut from increased export prices to destructive hurricanes, and also more powerful version of Martial Law, and faster construction. How you can see, the add-on adds plenty of new goodies into gameplay, so Tropico's maniacs will probably satisfied enough :) I can only say that Tropico is still very funny and highly addictive game which is easy to play but difficult to master :)
