While Sims: Hot Date added a new downtown area for each neighborhood, Sims Vacation now adds a new Vacation Island for each existing hood. The Vacation Island is a lot like Downtown from Hot Date. It allows you to transport the whole family to several types of locales including camping grounds, alpine snow resorts and sandy beaches. Yeah holidays rocks :) Your Sims will be able to play volleyball, build a snowman, have snowball fights, go fishing or even build sandcastles along the beach. The Sims: Vacation features over 125 new objects (include the Fishing Pier, the Snowman, the Camping Tent, the Carnival Game, and the Half-Pipe), new characters (the Vacation Director, the Yeti, the Archer, and the Beach Shark!), lots of new social interactions with children, ability to obtain a souvenirs (you can purchase them in gift shops, or from playing of carnival games) of all types such as coconut monkey and stuffed penguin. I almost forgot that similarly to The Sims : Hot Date, your Sims can have sex :) Try to find where, I won't tell you :)) I must admit that The Sims: Vacation isn't so revolutionary as The Sims : Hot Date, but it's brings again pretty cool gameplay and plenty of fun. If you are The Sims fan, it's another expansion just for you :) snd: 5/5 - same quality as previous Sims, adds more "simlish" language and new great music gfx: 5/5 - same quality as previous Sims, several new animations playability: 4/5 - still enough enjoyable, over 125 new objects, new characters, new Vacation Island area, lots of new social interactions with children, carnival games, doesn't solve any of The Sims' basic problems (occasional slowdowns, pathfinding problems etc), limited Sims' interactions with the Tourists genre: life simulation release: March 2002 developer: Maxis publisher: Electronic Arts Overall: 80%

RTSer posted - May, 15 2002 - 03:22 just like big brother, this franchaise of the sim's is nothing more than a money maker for EA, the possibilities of add-ons is unlimited due to real life situations, rather than bringin in more addons perhaps EA/Maxis can concentrate on a real sequel and stop milking the cow.
