High Isle is finally here, bringing plenty of new gear to collect, explore, and puzzle-solve for Elder Scrolls Online fans. There's also a new card game, Tales of Tribute, to pass the time with when you're not killing monsters. However, getting this new content requires more steps than you might expect. Here's how to start the Takashima Chapter in ESO.

Purchasing Chapters
Before you can access all of High Isle's content, you must first purchase the chapter. This step is very simple - just go to the store of your choice and purchase your copy of High Isle. There are several options to choose from, from standard chapter upgrades to exclusive digital content and past chapters (like Blackwood and Greymoor). All four versions of High Isle are detailed below.

High Isle Upgrade: Includes the High Isle chapters and only these.
High Island Collector's Edition Upgrade: Includes the High Island Chapters and additional digital content (Amenos Ornaug Mount, Balfiera Senche Cub Pet, Knight Ascendant Outfit Style, Lair of Shemer Memento, High Island Emote Pack).
High Isle Collection: contains the High Isle, Blackwood, Greymoor, Elsweyr, Summerset and Morrowind chapters.
High Isle Collection CE: includes all chapters listed above, all digital content listed above, and all digital content from previous Collector's Editions.

Regardless of whether you bought High Isle or not, you can jump into the prologue quest and get ready for the adventure to come. This is how you start the prologue.

Step 1: Use ESO gold and choose your character.

Step 2: Open the main menu and navigate to the Crown Store.

Step 3: Select the Quest Launcher tab.

Step 4: Choose the ascending question, free for all adventurers.

Step 5: This takes you to Jakarn and the beginning of the prologue.

Opening of the High Island chapter
Once you've purchased the High Isle Chapter, you'll be able to explore the new content - whether you've completed the prologue or not. Here's how to get started.

Step 1: There are several ways to reach High Isle, but the quickest is by using the wayshrine.

Step 2: Open your world map and make sure you are on the Tamriel tab.

Step 3: Go all the way west and find a small island. This is the high island.

Step 4: Select a waypoint to quickly get to your location. Don't worry - since you've already bought the chapter, you can access the location immediately without having to discover it first. However, depending on how long it has been since your last fast travel, this will cost you some money.

Step 5: Once you have been teleported to the wayshrine, run down the stairs and talk to Jakarn to start the High Isle adventure.

Step 6: If you are a brand new player, ignore the steps above. Instead, you can just choose High Island as your starting location once you've completed this tutorial.
