Linux was always faster then Windows. I guess people this young can't know that - and people who never bothered comparing it before. When you have an old machine that can't run Windows, you put Linux on it.
I think you will want to limit your statement to graphics rendering. Which, never really took off on Linux because the OEMs did not provide any officially supported drivers. Now that we have better drivers, it easily beat Windows, yes. Imagine if these drivers were optimized and supported like their Windows counterparts... No sane person would use Windows ever again... |

Until Linux plays my entire games catalogue going into the thousands, why are we comparing an OS that’s as much good as a chocolate fireguard in that dept.
I’ve checked games support for Linux on steam and it’s pathetic, same for GoG. Then there’s the posters ‘it doesn’t work on Linux, will you support Linux’.
Watching my OS boot isn’t in my pastime, nor is it playing a select couple of games.

I'm not mainly concerned about performance, else the compatibility.
I've never paid and will never pay for a game, can Linux play cracked games (installer)?, else when the crackers develop a proper installer WILL BE THE END OF WINDOWS.
Anything else can run in a virtual machine box. |

Meh linux is alright but as you guys said... it's not a true replacement for windows...sadly, compatibility and ease of use puts a big separation between the 2 for most people. I even tried to use it as a media server, lol. What a waste of time. |
