Chris Roberts, visionary and main head of CIG/RSI, wanted to create the best damn space sim in 2012 that ever was. Anyone who has played the game or tech demo can see the potential. However in 2025 its still a beautiful broken piece of crap, stuffed in a bag, set of fire, and thrown into a dumpster. The focus on building features and content has left 13 years of tech debt that makes the game nearly unplayable so far along. Now they've decided on dealing with some of the is tech debt. As time goes on, software and hardware tech evolves making components of the game and its network require rework or redesign. I dunno there is a whole story to be said in this project's development the vision, challenges, hurdles. Hopefully upon eventual release in the years to come it will be still relevant.
