I, on the other hand, can confirm from experience that adding memory can make even an older PC really faster (a fast SSD is of course also a necessity). There is a big difference between i3, i5 fourth generation and Windows 10/11 when you have 4, 8 or 12GB RAM!! But it's true that more RAM than 16GB is not very meanin

You are full of shit. It does, until a certain point. Beyond that, the return is diminishing.
What makes it much faster is buying quality RAM with the lowest possible RAS/CAS. This makes a huge difference! But than again, only if you have enough of it.
