Wondering who here still uses a Ti?
I'm using an Asus GeForce 4 Ti 4800 8x
(and no, I'm not changing to ATI because you like them. Get over it) |

Got a XFX GF4 ti 4600 in my second pc. The rig is used for multimedia such as dvd movies, tv encoding.
My main rig has a Ati 9800 in it.
The ti 4600 is still a decent card IMO. |

Quite so. In some benchmarks it can outdo the 9600xt in the Quake 3 engine.... but is never really too far behind it. |

Still runs most of the games(depending on your cpu and ram). hang on and get a 6800u. My 4200 in my other machine runs everything really well. |

Im still using a Gainward GeForce 4 Ti4200 (w/ 64MB DDR).
Im quite pleased w/ it, tho im considering of buying an X800Pro...
ps. i would get an 6800, but rumours are that Nvidia has trouble producing their new line of GeForce cards, but if they'll get past the trouble then i might consider buying a 6800 (pro or Ultra), tho their quite expensive! |

If this thing supported PS2.0 or 3.0, I'd never even think of getting rid of it.... |

Pixel Shader versions (2.0 and 3.0). All of the current DirectX 9 cards are 2.0, while so far only the GeForce 6800 is a PS3.0 card.
Here is a comparison of PS1.1 (very early Ti's) to PS2.0
(for the curious, my Ti4800 supports up to PS1.3) |

See the 14 minute E3 presentation of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. if you want to know what PS3.0 looks like. In fact:
But honestly, there is little difference between PS2.0 and 3.0 besides shader length and performance. (The 6800 Ultra is meant to be able to implement displacement mapping into Far Cry without too much hit on performance) |

Plagued with problems eh? Ya.. tell that to my son and wife that have zero problems and never have had any. It was just me with my old piece of crap 9700. Blindside you're an ATI user, blatant enough without even mention of what card you have. How it could be 1-0 for ATI when nvidia has been making gaming cards since the start, you are really wacked man. Is this your first computer? Seems so. PCI-Xpress, oh wait ATI has those crap cards out now, and nearly nobody has PCI-Xpress... good business move. You aren't even worth my typing energy, I'll wait till someone posts something valid and worth the time. Just so you know, Nvidia already stated they wont put out full fledged PCI Xpress cards till September as there is no demand nor are motherboards up to specification to run them properly. Get a clue and come back. I remember when Nvidia was kicking ATI's butt only a few years ago.. remember that 8500? Remember the cards before which weren't even contenders for being gaming cards? You don't even know the history of the gpu maker you bought the card from.. But at least you came here to make a fool of yourself. Thanks for the laugh. |
