What this article fails to mention is the surplus power required to deliver RT rendering in real time.
It'd have been nice to see power consumption below each test.
I suspect that's where all these arguments would bleed out.
It just does not make sense to spend so much energy on it.
Most of the time you'd want high FPS, and that means turning RT off as a whole anyhow.
If you want to see really nice rays, turn off your PC and go outside - it will be realtime, UHD at infinite FPS, and it will help saving this planet. No new lives though. |
